Hip Hop/Commercial
Hip hop dance isn’t just a style—it’s a whole vibe! Born from the energy of hip hop culture, it’s always evolving, blending moves like breakdancing and body-popping with fresh twists.
Hip hop dance covers a wide range of urban styles, constantly shifting as new tracks drop and new moves follow. Just like the music, the dance keeps evolving, bringing in new beats and rhythms to vibe to.
More than just a dance style, hip hop is a lifestyle—a unique language, a distinct wardrobe, and a bold way to express yourself. It’s about attitude, energy, and always staying ahead of the curve.
Tap
Tap dancing is all about rhythm, style, and making noise in the most fun way possible!
Using precise foot movements and that signature tap-tap-tap, it’s a fusion of northern England’s clog dance, the lively jigs from Ireland and Scotland, and the powerful foot-stomping beats of African dance.
There are two main flavours of tap—rhythm (Jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap is all about the dance and showmanship, while rhythm tap is focused on the beats and grooves that come from your feet.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance is all about blending the elegance of ballet with the freedom and soul of jazz, contemporary, and modern dance. It’s graceful, fluid, and full of emotion, allowing dancers to express the heart and spirit of the music.

Pre-School
At Gauteng Dance Studios, we’re all about making dance fun from the very first step! We offer dance classes for kids as young as 3, with our preschool program led by qualified teachers who introduce your child to the magical world of dance and performance.
Our interactive classes help little ones build coordination, timing, and strength—while focusing on basic modern dance techniques. By age 6, they’ll be familiar with all the styles we teach, feeling confident and excited to express themselves!
Acrobatics
